Along the Southern Latitude 36° of the Andean Cordillera of Patagonia
lies an extraordinary abundance of active volcanoes that create some
of the best spots for backcountry skiing and riding with miles of
majestic landscapes.
This
tour is for skiers and snowboarders with experience. Activities
in this tour are physically demanding with full days of downhill
skiing. It is best to bring all your own ski/telemark/snowboard
gear.

All breakfasts during the trip, transportation from Osorno to Temuco,
lift tickets at every resort as well as one dinner in Bariloche.

Arrive
to Temuco, Chile via Santiago, Chile. Meet the ATAC trip leader
and other trip members. Drive to Pucón, Chile and spend the
afternoon skiing at the Villarrica ski resort.
In the evening enjoy the night life of Pucón and / or head
to the Posones hotsprings set on Lliucura River
just outside of town. Spend the evening in town at Ecole, a hostel
known for its exceptional vegetarian cuisine.

Pucón
- Villarrica: Continue exploring the Villarrica ski resort
and possibly some backcountry options on the backside of the
volcano. Spend the evening on a private ranch house outside
of Pucón on the Palguin river. 
Pucón
to Lanin: Departing Pucón early in the morning,
cross the Andean border, Paso Tromen leaving Chile
and entering Argentina. The scenery changes from the lush steep
mountainous forests to high mountain plains set with Araucarias
(monkey-puzzle tree) in front of Volcano Lanin. If conditions permit,
ascend Volcano Lanin (2900 meters above sea level)
with an incredible ski descent. In the afternoon, travel to the
small mountain town of Junin de los Andes where we stay the night.

Volcan
Copahue: From Junin, leave early in the morning to Neuquen,
a unique region set with mountains, rivers and old growth Araucarias.
Arrive at Caviahue, a ski resort set right next
to a world famous hot spring, our home for the
next two nights. During the day, ski amid the Araucarias
and hang out in thermal baths in the evening.
San Martin: Heading south early in the morning, we drive across the high plains of the Patagonian
steppes to San Martin de Los Andes.
Upon arrival, jump on your skis for a skin up the black mountain. With 2 hours of skiing behind us, head back to town for the best Patagonian lamb dinner on the southern cone!. Stay in town in lakeside cabins.

San Martin to Bariloche: continue over paso Cordoba to Bariloche. Staying in the middle of town at the ATAC private apartment, have access to the amenities of the biggest city of Argentina's Patagonia.
Expect to explore both the wild slopes surrounding the town of Bariloche as well as the wild nightlife (the true adventure!)
Bariloche --> Buenos Aires --> Home: Leaving from Bariloche Intl., fly through Buenos Aires on the way home. You can also fly through Santiago on the way back. We can help you with these arrangements.
